Summer . . . is a time for adventure and exploration. Wonders Summer Camp is designed to provide children the opportunity to learn and master new skills, but we work just as hard to make sure they have fun with friends. We won’t rest until every child is engaged.!

Summer Camp Descriptions, 2010

Mini Camp is for campers who just finished Pre-K and Kindergarten. We create the best camp experience every day by incorporating engaging, hands-on activities into our weekly themes. This camp is a part of our Explorers camp so the minicampers have the benefit of some camp spirit activities while experiencing the camp day with their peers.



Summer Camp Themes

Cheerleading Camp (New) If you love to dance, cheer and be in front of an audience, this is the camp for you! Led by Wonders cheerleader-in-residence, this camp will focus on the core components of cheerleading — jumps, dance moves, chants, strengthening, and flexibility, while working on team building and leadership skills, and more.

Chefs in Training Wonders chefs really get cooking in this fundamentals class. Children will learn the art of paring, measuring and delicious nutrition. Most of all they will prepare nutritious and delicious meals daily. We will bring out the inner Julia Child!

Clay Works Come join our experienced counselors for two weeks of fun, exploring clay, and learning some of clay history. This is a unique opportunity to create utilitarian and art pieces. Campers’ creativity is nurtured, developed and allowed to blossom. This very hands-on camp is sure to be messy fun.

Crafty Kids Imagination sparkles, curiosity powers up, ideas take form, and self-discovery is set in motion. Campers enjoy a fun-filled venture into the world of crafty art, culminating in an Awesome Art Show.

Flag Football AHH! Football in the summer! Throwing and catching, blocking and running! Working out and having lots of fun with friends and camp counselors. Most of all learning the value of sportsmanship. This is a non contact sport.

Lacrosse (NEW) Lacrosse has long been a regional favorite and its popularity is growing. This camp will introduce participants to the fundamentals of the game and build stick skills, including throwing, catching, cradling, and team work.

Soccer Soccer camp is all about having fun while enhancing skills! Whether you are a new player or experienced, you will build your skills in ball control, dribbling, and passing. Learning about team work and field positions will add to the excitement.

Sports Madness Want to play your favorite sport every day? Come be a part of Sports Madness Camp. Campers will play all sorts of indoor and outdoor sports, including some all time favorites — kickball, basketball, hockey, dodge ball and new games from other lands.

STARS on Stage! Lights, camera, action! Develop stage talent, showcase acting range, and expand knowledge of technical elements in STARS on Stage. Campers will have the opportunity to act and direct.

Swimming Lessons Our beginner swimming camp is a fun, safe, and enjoyable, specifically designed to meet the needs of the beginning swimmer. Children will learn the basic swim strokes and the fundamentals of water safety. Swimming lessons are given by a certified Red Cross life guard. This class fills up quickly, so sign up early.

Wood Working Come explore the creative dimensions of wood working. Campers will learn how to use a variety of tools including a hammer, drill, and T- square. Projects will vary according to age range. At the end of the two weeks, campers will go home with a product that was created in our workshop.
